Constantly dodging the pigeon hole and with a genre-hopping back catalogue that's touched on off-kilter cuts of Breakbeat driven Rave, Techno and Acid, Berlin based Skrufix present their latest offering following up EDMX's `Wicked Drummer' EP and Aashton's `4 Real' EP with the second in their series of vinyl releases' `Critical Hit' EP from label mainstay, Stephen Hedley a.k.a The Crane.
One half of Turtlez, The Crane is a corner-stone of the Skrufix camp and is a regular at their parties. Drawing influence from 2-Step, Garage and R&B he turns in a tightly swung meld of shuffles, punching subs and astutely chopped vocal snippets that work to expand on a varied body of work that's included releases for likes of Uncharted Audio.
Enlisting the assistance of revered veteran Keith Tenniswood a.k.a Radioactive Man for the mastering job - Stephen made the trip over from Berlin to sit in on the session - part of the process you can view here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ1yNbyp4z0&feature=youtu.be
With a typically hectic schedule ahead, Skrufix have a carnival inspired EP from label boss Things With Wings, as well as a release from MightyHor and tracks from the yet to be named live dance collective consisting of the the Turtlez duo, the other label boss Shanghai Burton and a very special female vocalist.
